What is Fraxel Laser?
Fraxel is a non-ablative fractional laser treatment that uses precise laser energy to target damaged skin. Fraxel can treat a variety of skin concerns, such as wrinkles, sun damage, acne scars, and pigmentation irregularities, all with minimal downtime and risk.
Fraxel is designed to improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance by stimulating the deeper layers of the skin without damaging the surface.
How Does Fraxel Laser Work?
Fraxel works by creating microscopic columns, or “wounds,” in the skin. This stimulates your skin’s natural collagen production, promoting the growth of new healthy skin cells that restore youthfulness and elasticity. Fraxel lasers offer varying levels of intensity, allowing our providers to tailor the procedure to your needs.
What Can Fraxel Laser Treat?
Fraxel is a very versatile option that can treat virtually any skin concern. These include:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sun damage and sunspots
- Acne scars and Surgical scars
- Hyperpigmentation such as age spots
- Actinic Keratosis
Who is a Candidate for Fraxel Laser?
During your consultation, our team will review your medical history and skin concerns to determine how Fraxel can help you achieve your goals. If you’re dealing with the issues mentioned above, Fraxel is likely a great option for you. However, certain medical conditions may affect your candidacy. Your provider will also tailor the treatment settings to be suitable for different skin tones.
What is Fraxel Laser Treatment Like?
Fraxel is relatively painless. Our team will supply a topical numbing cream, so you remain comfortable throughout treatment. Once you’re ready, you’ll be given protective eye shields, and the handpiece will be applied to your skin, where it will administer microscopic beams of laser energy. Afterward, you’ll receive detailed instructions on how to care for your skin.
What is Downtime After Fraxel Laser Like?
Fraxel treatments generally involve minimal downtime, but we recommend allowing at least 2 weeks of downtime before any significant events. While many patients can resume their daily activities right away, mild redness or swelling may occur in the first few days. Healing time can vary depending on the intensity of the treatment and individual skin types, with full recovery taking up to 2 weeks. Please keep this in mind when planning for upcoming events, as redness may persist for a few days.
